Little Brother’s central goal is to improve the well-being of our environment and the people, plants, and creatures living in it through our expertise in design and construction of the built environment.
Our ideal practice is defined by a “yes, and” approach. We pursue projects of all kinds and scales: exquisite objects and furniture to humble garden sheds, private homes, and cultural buildings; gardens and parks to regional development strategies. By exploring a mix of projects we develop a broad, holistic mindset to engage our clients’ unique visions and desires. In addition to the experience we build through relationships with our clients, our work is guided by our core values: diversity, sensitivity, and novelty.
We value diversity because we want the work to be bigger than ourselves. We aim to serve a broad spectrum of clients and users over a wide range of places in a variety of types and styles. The most thrilling moments come when differences rub up against each other and create something new. We value sensitivity because we understand that the changes we make impact the greater environment. To imagine what they will become, we watch how environments grow and change. We value novelty because the act of discovery is deeply rewarding. Our work is most successful when it fosters a perpetual sense of newness. When each experience is unique, there is always reason to return.
